Cardinal Women's Distance Impressive At Penn Relays

Stanford Men's All-Time Records

The Stanford women's track team posted an impressive result on Thursday at the Penn Relays. The Cardinal placed third in the Women's Championship of America Distance Medley Relay with a time of 11:05.48.

Michigan took home the meet title with a time of 10:49.58. The Wolverines were able to hold off runner-up Tennessee who was just off the pace with a time of 10:50.51.

The Stanford team was made up of (1,200 meters), (400 meters), (800 meters) and (1,600 meters).

Follmar got the Cardinal off to a strong start running a time of 3:26.0 for her leg. Follmar is coming off of an impressive indoor season where she earned her first two All-America honors of her career as a member of the DMR team as well as by finishing 10th in the mile at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships.

The second leg was run by Otu in a time of 54.6 seconds. Otu also earned her first All-America honor indoors this season as a member of the DMR team.

Running the third leg was Duhon with a time of 2:11.3. Duhon is the newcomer to the DMR team since the indoor season. She has taken over for whose eligibility has expired.

The anchor leg belonged to Centrowitz who ran a split of 4:33.6. The five-time All-American held off Georgetown and North Carolina who finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

In a busy weekend for Stanford track and field, the men's distance medley will be on the track tomorrow at the Penn Relays. In addition, the first of two days of competition will begin in Berkeley, Calif. at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational.
