Stanford Complets PING/ASU Invitational In 14th Place

Stanford completed the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational Sunday, finishing tied for 14th. The Cardinal struggled for most of the weekend finishing with a score of 56-over-par 920. USC won the tournament with a score of 10-under-par 854.

Host Arizona State finished second at 1-over-par 865 to provide the only real challenge to the Trojans. UCLA finished third with a score of 12-over-par 876 to complete a Pac-10 sweep of the top three spots.

Rounding out the top-five were Texas A&M with a score of 15-over-par 879 and Georgia who finished with a score of 16-over-par 880.

For a second straight day, Stanford was led by . On Sunday, Durham shot a 1-over-par 73 to finish with a score of 9-over-par 225. She was the top overall Stanford finisher in a tie for 38th.

Just behind Durham in the overall standings was who finished in a tie for 42nd. Chun shot a 5-over-par 77 on Sunday to finish with a 10-over-par 226 for the tournament.

Also playing well on Sunday was who shot her best round of the tournament, a 4-over-par 76. Wang finished the tournament with a score of 20-over-par 236 and a tie for 70th.

Also in that tie for 70th with a score of 20-over-par 236 was who shot a 9-over-par 81 on Sunday.

Rounding out the scoring five for Stanford was who finished the tournament in 84th with a score of 32-over-par 248.

Stanford will return to campus to host the Peg Barnard Invitational next weekend, April 11-12. The Cardinal will benefit from playing a tournament at their home course for the first time since October.
