Tempe, Ariz.- Stanford is off to a good start at the first day of the Pac-10 Multi-event Championships. sits in third place halfway through the decathlon to lead the men, while sits in sixth place halfway through the heptathlon competition to lead the Stanford women.
Hustedt had a season best time in the 400 meters of 50.64 seconds to lead him to third place. Hustedt has 3,775 points after five of ten events. He trails Ashton Eaton of Oregon who has the day-one lead with 4.069 points.
Also competing in the decathlon for Stanford is who is 11th after day-one. Dysick has 3,017 points through the first five events.
Stewart leads the Stanford women with 3,269 points after four of seven events in the heptathlon. Stewart recorded a season best in the 100 meter hurdles of 14.24 seconds to spearhead her day.
Also faring well for Stanford was who sits in eighth place. Liehr recorded season bests in the high jump (5-6 ½) and the shot put (36-6 ½) on the way to 3,108 points.
