Saturday's Stanford-Nebraska Game Suspended Due To Weather

Feb. 23, 2008

Stanford, Calif. - Action from Saturday's contest between Stanford (1-1) and Nebraska (1-1) was suspended in the middle of the third inning due to weather conditions at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond. Saturday's suspended contest is scheduled to be resumed in the bottom of the third inning on Sunday (1 pm, PT) prior to the day's regularly scheduled game.

Stanford's Max Fearnow (3.0 IP, 1 BB, 4 SO) and Nebraska's Dan Jennings (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 SO) had been engaged in a pitcher's duel before heavy rains began in the top of the third inning. The rain delay started in the middle of the third inning at 1:40 pm, PT, and action never resumed.

A pair of Nebraska errors and a stolen base put Zach Jones on third base for Stanford in the bottom of the first inning, but he was stranded there when Jennings struck out Sean Ratliff and retired Jason Castro on a line out to end the threat.
