Stanford has now won three straight games.

Head coach Mark Marquess won his 1298th career game to move to within two victories of 1300 in his career and the No. 10 spot on the all-time victory list for NCAA Division I head coaches.

Sean Ratliff extended his season-high hit streak to 10 games.

Cord Phelps extended his hit streak to a new season-high seven games and also reached base in four of his five plate appearances to continue his string of games in which he has reached base at least once to 26 in a row dating back to the final three games of last season.

Stanford played errorless defense for the third consecutive game.

Stanford remained unbeaten when leading after five (11-0) and eight (12-0) innings.

The contest marked the first regular season game played between the teams since 1990 and the first regular season contest between the clubs at Stanford since 1960.
