Stanford-Oregon State Baseball Game Notes (April 12, 2008)

Recap | Box Score

STANFORD
Erik Davis pitched his third consecutive complete game, won his fourth straight start and tied a career-high with his 9.0 innings pitched.

Cord Phelps drove in three runs and now has 14 RBI in his last five contests.

Zach Jones tied his own career-high and team season-best with two sacrifice bunts.

Stanford kept its hope alive of extending its current regular season three-game series win streak to 10 with a victory on Sunday. The streak dates back to the final three regular season three-game sets of 2007 and is the longest streak of its kind for the Cardinal since Stanford won 15 straight regular season three-game series in a row from May 3, 2003 - May 4, 2004.

Stanford continued to be better during the day (13-3-1) than at night (3-8).

Head coach Mark Marquess moved into sole possession of 10th place on the all-time Division I NCAA win list with the 1301st victory of his career.

Stanford remained a perfect 11-0 on weekends (7-0 on Saturdays, 4-0 on Saturdays).
