Mark Marquess won his 1300th career game to move into a tie for 10th place on the all-time win list for NCAA Division I head coaches.

Stanford won its ninth consecutive regular season three-game series dating back to last season with the streak of regular season three-game series wins Stanford's longest since the Cardinal won an amazing 15 in a row from May 3, 2003 - May 4, 2004.

Stanford extended its home series win streak over Arizona State to six in a row with the Sun Devils last winning a series at Stanford with a three-game sweep in 1997.

Stanford improved to 10-0 on weekends (6-0 Saturdays, 4-0 Sundays) and also remained unbeaten in rubber games (5-0), three-game series finales (6-0) and when leading after eight innings (14-0).

Stanford's six-run fifth inning was its biggest scoring inning of 2008.

Randy Molina extended his career-high hit streak to 10 games and posted his 11th multiple-hit contest.

Sean Ratliff had his career-high 13-game hit streak snapped.

Zach Jones scored a career-high three runs scored.

Joey August tied a season-high with three hits.

Blake Hancock struck out a career-high four batters in a career-high-tying 4.0 innings.

Stanford continued to be much better in day games (12-3) than in night contests (3-6) this season.

Stanford also has been much better against ranked teams (8-3) than unranked squads (7-6) in 2008.
