LAS VEGAS - The seven gymnasts sent to represent Stanford at the Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas showed well in preliminary action tonight, as six athletes finished in the top-15 of their respective sessions.

Redshirt senior Sho Nakamori, redshirt junior Greg Ter-Zakhariants, senion Bryant Hadden, and alumnus David Sender competed in the afternoon session, while sophomores Josh Dixon, Ryan Lieberman, Alex Buscaglia, and Tim Gentry participated in the evening session.

Nakamori led the way for the Cardinal in the prestigious all-around competition, scoring an 84.7, while Ter-Zakhariants followed with an 85.3. Nakamori was solid in almost every event, finishing in the top-five in his session on four of the six apparatuses, with his best finish of second place coming on parallel bars (14.9). Ter-Zakhariants took four top-ten finishes in his session, including a fourth-place showing on horizontal bar (14.55).

Sender recorded the best score on vault out of all the gymnasts in both sessions with a 16.1, and took first in his session on rings (15.2) and eighth in all-around. Dixon followed closely behind on vault with a 16.05, which was good enough for first in his session and also took fifth in floor (14.75) and tied for fifth on horizontal bar (14.35).

Lieberman, who took eighth in all-around in his session, also took fourth on horizontal bar (14.4) and sixth on vault (15.7). Hadden tied for 10th in all-around, with his best finish of second place on rings (14.95). Buscaglia, who finished 11th in all-around, tied for third on vault in his session (15.9).
