STANFORD, Calif. - Evan Romero had 19 kills and Kawika Shoji had 42 assists to lead Stanford to a 30-20, 30-28, 30-21 nonconference men's volleyball victory over No. 9 Lewis at Maples Pavilion on Friday night.
The No. 7-ranked Cardinal (13-7) earned its fifth consecutive victory, while Lewis fell to 12-4.
Stanford hit .382 as a team, as Romero led the way with a .438 hitting percentage. Shoji added six kills (.714) and eight digs. Teammate and brother Erik Shoji had 11 digs.
Stanford and Lewis play again Saturday night, this time at Burnham Pavilion, at 7 p.m. After that, Stanford takes a two-week break for Dead Week and finals, before returning for a final nonconference match against visiting Cal Baptist on March 21.
