Pac-10 Women's Basketball All-Academic TeamsSTANFORD, Calif. - Stanford women's basketball placed five student-athletes on the list of those recognized on the Pac-10 Women's Basketball All-Academic Teams, the conference announced Tuesday.
All five student-athletes earned honorable mention recognition: junior Jayne Appel (3.01 GPA, psychology), redshirt junior Rosalyn Gold-Onwude (3.30, communication), senior Jillian Harmon (3.25, psychology), sophomore Kayla Pedersen (3.23, undeclared) and sophomore Jeanette Pohlen (3.16, undeclared).
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or a significant contributor.
The quintet has played a major role in Stanford's success this season. The Cardinal (31-4) have won at least 30 games for the second consecutive season, and on Saturday will begin play at its sixteenth Sweet 16 when it takes on third-seeded Ohio State (29-5) at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley.
