Stanford Earns 11 All-American Awards At Individual Event Finals

MINNEAPOLIS - On the final night of competition in the 2009 season, the Stanford Cardinal achieved 11 different All-American awards at the NCAA Individual Event Finals. Seven athletes were designated with the award, while redshirt senior Sho Nakamori reeled in three in his final Stanford appearance.

With his three All-American awards tonight, Nakamori brings his total to eight over his career. The Albany, Calif. native took fourth on both parallel bars (14.650) and horizontal bar (14.75) and came in eighth on floor exercise (15.325).

Redshirt sophomore Nick Noone and sophomore Tim Gentry also recorded multiple awards, as Noone took third on still rings (15.275) and seventh on parallel bars (14.475), while Gentry finished third on vault (16.175) and in a tie for fourth on rings (15.250).

Sophomore Alex Buscaglia picked up the Cardinal's third third-place award with a 14.875 on horizontal bar, while three of his teammates also earned one All-American award.

Sophomore Kyle Oi earned his on rings with a seventh-place finish (15.025) and his classmate Ryan Lieberman earned a tie for fifth with a 14.575 on parallel bars. In addition, in his final night in a Stanford uniform, senior Bryant Hadden took eighth on rings with a 14.725, his second career All-American award on the apparatus.
