STANFORD, Calif.- The Stanford field hockey program recently wrapped up its latest community service activity, partnering with the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative (BAWSI).
Members of this year's field hockey squad joined students from Mariano Castro Elementary School in Mountain View for community outreach activities on Fridays during the spring. Different activity stations were set up throughout the playground, with the intent to encourage outside activity and exercise.
In addition to participating in relay races and testing out different equipment, each BAWSI student received a pedometer to track their steps during the afternoon sessions.

The Stanford field hockey program continues to be active in the community. The team has routinely held youth clinics and fundraising events, and last year partnered with KIPP Heartwood Academy in San Jose for an interactive workshop on the Stanford campus.
