STANFORD, Calif.- Both Stanford tennis teams enjoyed success on the opening day of competition at their respective ITA All-American Championships on Thursday afternoon.
On the men's side, Alex Clayton and Bradley Klahn posted first-round wins. Clayton defeated Javier Garrapiz of Georgia 7-5, 6-2 while Klahn topped Oklahoma's Costin Pavel 6-1, 7-5.
In doubles, the team of Klahn and Ryan Thacher notched an 8-6 victory over William and Mary's Keziel Juneau and Sebastien Vidal.
At the women's tournament, Hilary Barte cruised to a 7-5, 6-3 win over UCLA's Yasmin Schnack.
Meanwhile, the team of Barte and Lindsay Burdette coasted past Georgia's taem of Nadja Gilchrist and Chelsea Gullickson 8-3.
