STANFORD, Calif.- Xanthe Travlos scored a pair of goals, pacing a strong second-half surge as No. 15 Stanford cruised past Longwood 6-1 on Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the 2009 NorPac Championship.

With the victory, Stanford (15-4, 5-1 NorPac) established a school record for wins in a single season and punched its ticket to Saturday's championship match. The Cardinal will be gunning for its third consecutive conference tournament title when it faces California on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

After piling up 46 shots yesterday against Appalachian State, Stanford totaled only 18 on Friday. But the end result was six goals, four of them coming after halftime and five unanswered after Longwood (10-10, 4-2 NorPac) knotted the game at 1-1.

Travlos led all players with six shots, scoring her two goals in a two-minute span early in the second period.

Stanford held an 18-11 shot edge and an 8-6 advantage in penalty corners.

Senior Midori Uehara put Stanford ahead 1-0 in the seventh minute, converting inside the circle following a well-placed pass from senior Rachel Mozenter.

At the 14:28 mark, Lauren van de Kamp tied the game at 1-1, taking an assist from Olga Knop and scoring after a penalty corner opportunity.

Freshman Becky Dru responded with her 12th goal of the year in the 29th minute, finding the cage with assists from junior Jaimee Erickson and senior Nora Soza on a textbook penalty corner.

Travlos opened the second half with back-to-back goals, providing Stanford with a 4-1 cushion.

Mozenter, who chipped in with three shots, tallied her ninth goal of the year at the 50:20 mark to make it 5-1 after Travlos set her up with a give-and-go at the top of the circle.

Sophomore Katie Mitchell rounded out the scoring with just under one minute remaining, converting off an assist from Devon Holman.

Stanford keeper Alessandra Moss was solid between the posts, making seven saves.
