Stanford Synchro Had Another Strong Day At The U.S. Nationals

Stanford, Calif. - On day two of the U.S. Nationals, Stanford Synchro again performed well. The Cardinal continued to post good scores, while hosting the top competition from around the country at the Avery Aquatic Center.

The Cardinal began the day in the team competition, when they competed in the technical routines. Stanford finished with a score of 92.333 to finish second. Stanford trailed the Santa Clara Aquamaids who had the top score of 93.333, but were ahead of their collegiate rival, Ohio State. The Stanford team was comprised of Erin Bell, Alex Bollaidlaw, Debbie Chen, Taylor Durand, Maria Koroleva, Michelle Moore, Olivia Morgan and Corinne Smith.

In the duets, a pair of Stanford teams finished in the top eight. The freshmen pairing of Koroleva and Morgan finished fifth with a score of 90.500, while the experienced pairing of Chen and Durand finished seventh with a score of 89.333.

Finally, in the solo routine, Morgan finished tied for seventh with a score of 90.167. It completed a busy day for Morgan where she competed in all three events.

Stanford will be back in the pool on Saturday for the conclusion of the U.S. Nationals. Saturday will mark the exciting conclusion to the weekend with the free competitions in all three events. The Cardinal remain in the hunt for high placings in all three events.
