TUCSON, Ariz.- Derrick Williams scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half and Arizona held off Stanford 76-68 for the Wildcats' third consecutive victory and fourth in five games.
Arizona (11-9, 5-3 Pac-10) withstood a pair of strong offensive efforts from Stanford. Landry Fields registered his eighth double-double of the season, scoring a game-high 31 points and grabbing 11 boards in 37 minutes. Meanwhile, Jeremy Green chipped in with 25 points for the second consecutive game, making 9-20 from the field with five three-pointers in 38 minutes.
Kyle Fogg added 15 points for the Wildcats, with Nic Wise scoring 14 points (10-12 free throws).
Stanford (10-10, 4-4 Pac-10) shot 47.2 percent overall while limiting Arizona to just 32 percent from the field. But the Wildcats held a 38-34 rebounding edge and cashed in at the foul line, making 27-34 attempts while forcing the Cardinal into 18 turnovers.
Arizona led 37-33 at halftime, taking over the lead for good following the second of two straight three-pointers from Brendon Lavender with just over three minutes remaining.
Trailing by as many as 11 in the second half, Stanford cut the lead to 71-67 on Green's 3-pointer with 27 seconds left before Arizona sealed the victory from the free-throw line.

NOTES: Landry Fields reached the 30-point mark for the second straight game. The last time Stanford received back-to-back 30-point performances was 1992, when Adam Keefe scored 36 points against Washington on Feb. 27 and followed that with a 33-point effort against Washington State on Mar. 1 ...
