Evanston, Ill. - The Stanford fencing teams competed against top competition over the weekend at the Northwestern Duals hosted by Northwestern University. Both Cardinal teams had mixed results with the men going 8-5 and the women 7-8.
The Cardinal men went just 3-5 on Saturday, before completing a perfect record on Sunday of 5-0. Stanford earned consecutive victories on Sunday over UC San Diego, Johns Hopkins, North Carolina, Northwestern and Lawrence.
The women also performed better on Sunday with a record of 5-4. This came after a 2-4 day on Saturday.
The Cardinal will next compete at the Western Regionals on Saturday, March 13, in San Diego, Calif. It will be the last event before the NCAA Championships the following week.
