STANFORD, Calif.- No. 8 Stanford notched its fourth shutout of the season on Wednesday afternoon, cruising past No. 35 Boise State 7-0 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
The Cardinal remained undefeated at 6-0 overall and extended its home winning streak to an unthinkable 155 in a row (125 in the regular season), recognized as the longest active home winning streak of any intercollegiate sport in NCAA Division I athletics. The last time the Cardinal lost a home match was back on Feb. 27, 1999, when No. 4 California pulled a 5-4 upset.
Playing the first of three consecutive road matches, Boise State falls to 3-3 overall.
Stanford grabbed a quick 1-0 lead by capturing the doubles point, surrendering just six games combined.
The Cardinal then claimed wins at all six singles spots, including a 6-3, 6-1 win on court six from Jennifer Yen, who was making her first appearance overall since Jan. 16.
Stanford is back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 24, against Hawai'i at 1:30 p.m.
