FORT WORTH, Texas- No. 14 Stanford kicked off its Texas road trip with a 6-1 victory over No. 24 TCU on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinal (3-0) will close out the road swing on Saturday, Feb. 6, with a matchup against No. 27 Texas (1-2) at 10 a.m. PT.
Stanford locked up the doubles point to take a 1-0 advantage, sweeping all three matches.
The Cardinal then secured five singles wins to earn the 6-1 triumph. Carolyn McVeigh posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 5 spot, Lindsay Burdette stormed past Kayla Duncan 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 position and Hilary Barte won her sixth straight match with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Nina Munch-Soegaard in a battle at the top spot of the lineup.
Mallory Burdette suffered just her fourth loss of the year, falling to Katariina Tuohimaa 5-7, 7-6 (4), 10-5 on court three.
