REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-- Stanford Sailing won the sail off with UC Irvine and were crowned the winners of the McIntyre Team Race on Sunday.
Ben Pedrick, Peter Stemler, Nick Dugdale and Oliver Riihiluoma skippered the winning crew, finishing with 12 wins, the same as the Anteaters prior to the final sailoff.
Stanford had gone 4-1 in a round robin between the top-six teams, Washington, USC, Hawaii, UC Santa Barbara, UCI and Stanford, while the Anteaters went 3-2, for identical 12-2 records, forcing a sail off.
USC and Washington also finished with identical 8-4 records, with the Trojans winning the second sail off of the day.
Stanford had finished the first round of sailing at 8-1, one win behind undefeated and then first place, UCI (9-0).
