TEMPE, Ariz.- No. 11 Stanford coasted past No. 23 Arizona State 6-1 on Friday afternoon in Tempe, picking up its fifth straight victory while winning its first Pac-10 counting match of the season.
The Cardinal (12-1, 1-0 Pac-10) will now face No. 55 Arizona tomorrow at 12 p.m. The Sun Devils dropped to 11-3 and 3-1 in league play.
Stanford won all three doubles matches easily, claiming a 1-0 lead.
In singles action, the Cardinal extended its lead to 2-0 following a 6-1, 6-1 victory from Stacey Tan at the No. 4 spot.
After Arizona State cut the lead to 2-1, Hilary Barte and Lindsay Burdette posted wins at the top two spots of the lineup to clinch the match.
