Stanford Sailing Finishes Off East Coast Swing

NORFOLK, VA-- Stanford sailing finished off its spring break with two wins in round three of the Szambecki Team Invitational finishing off the two-day team race with a 6-15 record for eighth place amongst the eight competitors. St. Mary's College of Maryland won the event with 17 wins, outdistancing four other teams with 10 to 12 wins.

Stanford spent the last 10 days over spring break on the East Coast, with Nick Dugdale winning his laser division as part of the Truxtun Umstead last weekend and the Cardinal women's division of Eliza Richartz and Rebecca King finishing sixth in their race at the St. Mary's Intersectional.

The team also spent five days practicing with the College of Charleston.

It will be a buys couple of weeks for the sailing team it hosts the North No. 5 regional on Saturday and Sunday at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, and the team conference championships at its Redwood City home on April 10-11.
