STANFORD, Calif. - As Stanford prepares to play its annual Cardinal & White Spring Game at Kezar Stadium, Mayor Gavin Newsom has proclaimed Saturday as "Stanford Football Day in San Francisco."
Mayor Newsom presented head coach Jim Harbaugh with the official proclamation from the City and County of San Francisco on Thursday at Kezar Stadium.
Saturday's Cardinal & White Spring Game marks the return of Stanford Football to the City of San Francisco for the first time since 1942. Stanford's first ever game at Kezar Stadium dates back to Oct. 20 when Stanford scored a 47-0 victory over Idaho.
The Cardinal & White Spring Game kicks off at 2:00 p.m. with gates opening at 1:00 p.m. Stanford football alumni, including Todd Husak, John Lynch and John Ralston, will be on hand to sign autographs before the game. Current Stanford players will be available for autographs after the game.
Admission is free, though donations to benefit San Francisco Recreation and Parks Youth Scholarship Program will be accepted at various locations inside the stadium.
Parking is available for $10 at the Waller Street lot, located on the northeast side of Kezar Stadium, on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 12:30 p.m. Public parking is also available at the Millberry Union Garage, located at 500 Parnassus Avenue near the UCSF Medical Center, two blocks away from Kezar Stadium. Limited street parking is also available.
