STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford women's water polo landed four players on the various All-MPSF Teams following the end of the regular season and the conference tournament this past weekend. Kelly Eaton and Jessica Steffens were each named to the First Team, while Annika Dries and Melissa Seidemann each earned a spot on the Third Team.

The quartet helped Stanford to a 24-2 overall record and the MPSF regular season title with a perfect 7-0 conference mark. The Cardinal is also the No. 1 seed at the National Collegiate Championship to be held next weekend, May 14-16 at San Diego State's Aztec Aquaplex.

Eaton earned her first selection to the All-MPSF First Team with the announcement, and the third all-conference honor in her career. The senior from Menlo Park is second on the squad with 45 goals and was twice named MPSF Mikasa Player of the Week in 2010. Eaton also stands seventh in the MPSF ranking with 1.73 goals per game.

For Steffens the announcement marked her second straight appearance on the First Team. In 2010 the senior from Danville was a defensive rock for the Cardinal, coming up with numerous clutch field blocks and helping anchor the MPSF's top-ranked defense as the Cardinal allowed just 5.00 goals per game. On the offensive end, Steffens netted 17 goals.

Seidemann, a sophomore two-meter, earned her second straight All-MPSF recognition after leading the Cardinal with 48 goals so far in 2010 and ranking fifth in the MPSF with 1.85 goals per game. The sophomore's efficiency in front of the cage has led her to lead the Cardinal in scoring for the second straight season.

The lone Cardinal freshman on the All-MPSF lists, Dries, a two-meter player from Laguna Beach, was named to both the All-MPSF Third Team and the All-Freshman Team. In her rookie campaign, Dries has scored 32 goals and ranks 19th in the MPSF with 1.23 goals per game.

The Cardinal will open up National Collegiate Championship play next Friday, May 14, taking on the No. 8 seed Pomona-Pitzer at 4 p.m. at Aztec Aquaplex.
