PROVIDENCE, R.I. / NEW LONDON, Conn. – After the first of two days of sailing in New England, Stanford Sailing is in ninth place at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at Brown and in eighth place at the women's Stu Nelson Regatta at Connecticut College. Both races have 18 competitors.
At Brown, the A Division coed crew tallied 78 points placing in the top six four times in eight races. The B Division was in the top-10 in four of the six races for 62 points, tallying 140 points between the two.
In a close women's race in the Nutmeg State, Stanford is one of eight teams between sixth and 13th place, tallying 38 points from its B Division after five races and 67 points from its A Division for 105 points.
Both regattas conclude tomorrow, while Stanford is also on the West Coast in Southern California at the two-day Match Racing Championships.
