Green's 26 Paces Stanford In 87-56 Rout Of Cal State Monterey Bay

STANFORD, Calif.- Jeremy Green poured in a game-high 26 points and Josh Owens added a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds as Stanford routed Cal State Monterey Bay 87-56 in an exhibition game at Maples Pavilion on Wednesday night.

Dwight Powell chipped in with 10 points off the bench and grabbed four boards, one of eight Stanford players to tally at least four rebounds as the Cardinal owned a commanding 59-32 edge on the glass.

Stanford shot 43.1 percent overall while limiting Cal State Monterey Bay to 30.6 percent shooting. The Cardinal racked up eight steals and forced the Otters into 15 turnovers.

Stanford also made 18 more trips to the charity stripe, converting on 19-30 free throws compared to Cal State Monterey Bay's 10-12 clip.

The Cardinal coasted to a 42-26 halftime lead, taking its first double-digit lead at 19-8 with 11:03 remaining following a lay-up from Powell.

A jumper from Jarrett Mann at the 5:46 mark gave Stanford its largest lead of the half at 34-13.

The Otters cut the deficit to 63-51 with just over eight minutes to go in the contest, only to see the Cardinal close out the game with a 26-5 scoring run.

Mann finished with nine points, five boards and four assists, Jack Trotter pitched in with eight points and five rebounds and Anthony Brown and Stefan Nastic each had seven points.

Stanford's starting lineup consisted of Mann, Green, Brown, Owens and Andrew Zimmermann.

Davion Berry led Cal State Monterey Bay with 20 points.

Stanford opens the season on Monday, Nov. 15, at home against San Diego at 7 p.m.
