ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -B.J. Jenkins scored 15 points, including two free throws in the final 25 seconds, as Murray State held on for a 55-52 victory over Stanford on Thursday night in the first round of the 76 Classic.
The Racers (3-1) led 29-18 at halftime and scored 18 points off 18 turnovers by the Cardinal (3-1).
Dwight Powell led Stanford with a career-high 16 points and scored 12 of Stanford's 18 points in the first half. Josh Owens finished with 10 points and five rebounds before fouling out with 5:28 left.
Isaiah Canaan, who scored eight points, made two free throws with 13.8 seconds left to put the Racers ahead 53-49.
Stanford's leading scorer, Jeremy Green, scored all nine of his points on three 3-pointers in the final minute.
Murray State, which led by as many as 14 points in the first half, made 18 of 23 free throws.

NOTES: Stanford was playing on Thanksgiving for the first time since Nov. 23, 2000. On that particular Turkey Day, the Cardinal defeated Old Dominion 84-60 in the opening round of the Puerto Rico Shootout ...
