STANFORD, Calif.-- Zach Jones delivered a bases loaded, two-out single in the bottom of the ninth as Stanford (11-6, 1-1 Pac-10) evened the series with visiting USC (12-11, 1-1 Pac-10) 5-4.

Brian Busick (2-0) pitched two scoreless innings for the bullpen's ninth win of the season, while Brandon Garcia (1-2)  took the loss, giving up a two-out single to Jake Stewart, followed by a walk to Colin Walsh to load the bases.

Jones then delivered a 1-0 pitch through the right side of the infield for the Cardinal's fifth walk-off win of the season.

After a combined 21 runs and 10 pitchers on Friday, each team's starter threw seven innings, relinquishing leads in their final innings.

Ricky Oropesa (7) gave USC a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh of off starter Jordan Pries, before an RBI single by Walsh in the bottom of the inning tied it at 4-4 off of Ben Mount.

Pries gave up four runs on eight hits over the first seven, while Mount, gave up four runs on seven hits. Both receiving no decisions for their efforts.

Stanford took a 3-2 lead in the sixth off of the second of two RBIs by Justin Ringo. Stephen Piscotty extended his hit streak to 10 games with a single in the sixth, stole second and then came home on Ringo's single.

Stanford pushed across two runs in the first to take a 2-1 lead, thanks to a sacrifice fly by Ringo and RBI single by Jonathan Kaskow. USC tied it in the second with its own sacrifice fly to make it 2-2.

The series finale will be on Sunday at 1 p.m.
