CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- No. 1 Stanford opened play at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships on Friday afternoon with a 4-0 shutout of No. 19 Arkansas.
Stanford (6-0, 0-0 Pac-10) locked up the doubles point with wins on courts one and three, quickly taking a 1-0 lead.
The Cardinal then cleaned up at the middle spots of its singles lineup. Freshmen Kristie Ahn and Nicole Gibbs both collected their 18th win of the year before Mallory Burdette clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph returning back to her usual No. 2 position.
