Sailing Wins South Regatta

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.-- Stanford Sailing picked up a regional win the South Regatta in Southern California scoring a team-low 79 points to lead the field of 29 two-person teams.

Eliza Richartz and McKenzie Wilson skippered the A Division to a low of 27 points, while Molly McKinney skippered the B Division to 52 points, which was fourth-best.

Across the two-day, eight race regatta, Richartz and Wilson won twice, finished second twice and in the top-five in seven of the eight races. McKinney's team had a strong start, finishing in the top-five in four of the first five races, but fell off with a 16th and 10th place finish over two of the final three races.

Overall on the East Coast in two separte team races, Stanford went 6-12 overall for sixth place at the Admiral Moore team race and was 5-12 for sixth at the Szambecki Team Race. The Cardinal's best winning percentage in the round robins was 4-5 when it won the head to head in round one of the Admiral Moore Team Race.
