STANFORD, Calif.- No. 8 Stanford posted its eighth consecutive victory on Monday afternoon, easily taking down No. 70 San Francisco 6-1 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Playing the first of two non-conference matches before Saturday's regular season finale against California, Stanford (16-5, 4-1 Pac-10) dropped the doubles point but rallied back in singles for a win over San Francisco (10-9, 1-1 WCC).
The Dons captured the doubles point thanks to wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots, holding an early 1-0 edge.
However, San Francisco's momentum was quickly erased in singles play. Alex Clayton blanked Richard Bucalem 6-0, 6-0 on court three before Bradley Klahn wasted little time defeating Ola Bakke 6-2, 6-0, resulting in a 3-0 Stanford lead.
Denis Lin provided the clincher with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Jacob Hartwig on court four.
Stanford is back in action tomorrow against BYU at 1:30 p.m.
