SEATTLE- No. 9 Stanford notched its season-best fifth straight victory on Friday afternoon, edging No. 22 Washington 4-3 on the road.

Stanford (13-5, 3-1 Pac-10) improved its record to 3-2 on the road with Friday's win over Washington (14-8, 1-3 Pac-10).

The Cardinal locked up the doubles point with victories at the top two spots of the lineup, as the duo of Denis Lin and Matt Kandath provided the clincher in an 8-6 win at No. 2.

Bradley Klahn's 6-4, 6-2 victory over Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan at the No. 1 spot opened singles play and gave Stanford a 2-0 lead.

Kyle McMorrow's 6-3, 6-4 win over Ryan Thacher on court two brought Washington within 2-1, only to see Alex Clayton give Stanford more breathing room at 3-1 when he defeated Martin Kildahl 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot.

Denis Lin came through with the clincher in a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Daniel Schmidt on court four.

Stanford will attempt to sweep its Pacific Northwest road trip on Saturday afternoon, when the Cardinal takes on No. 70 Oregon at 11 a.m.
