April 9, 2011

EUGENE, Ore.- No. 9 Stanford extended its season-high winning streak to six matches on Saturday afternoon, coming up with a 6-1 road victory at No. 70 Oregon.

Stanford (14-5, 4-1 Pac-10) closes out the regular season with four consecutive home matches, with the next three coming against non-league opponents.

Oregon (10-10, 1-4 Pac-10) was swept on its home court this weekend by the Bay Area schools.

The Cardinal set the tone early on, sweeping all three spots during the doubles competition.

Straight-set victories by Ryan Thacher (6-1, 6-1 at No. 2) and Denis Lin (6-4, 6-0 at No. 4) put Stanford on the verge of clinching the match, before Bradley Klahn made it official with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph on court one.

Oregon garnered its only point of the match at No. 6, where Aaron Clissold defeated Jamin Ball 2-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10).
