Box Score

DAVIS, Calif.- No. 8 Stanford received goals from three different players and relied on a balanced offensive attack to defeat UC Davis 3-1 on Sunday afternoon, completing the first half of conference play undefeated.

Stanford (8-1, 3-0 NorPac) grinded out its seventh consecutive victory, turning away UC Davis (2-6, 1-1 NorPac) and avoiding any hangover effect from Friday's 3-2 statement win over No. 12 California.

Hope Burke, Emily Henriksson and Katie Mitchell led the way with goals, as the Cardinal outshot the Aggies 21-17 while holding a 10-4 edge in penalty corners.

Eight different players recorded at least two shot attempts, displaying Stanford's trademark offensive balance and attack distribution. Kelsey Harbin finished with a game-high four shots, while Burke and Henriksson added three apiece.

The Cardinal struck first for a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes, taking a quick 2-0 lead. On a penalty corner in the sixth minute, Hope Burke started the sequence with a pass to Stephanie Byrne, and later ended up scoring her fourth goal of the year on a tip-in after collecting a missed attempt from Becky Dru.

Henriksson found the cage at the 9:54 mark, taking a cross from Hannah Thiemann and beating UC Davis keeper Lauren Sawvelle for a 2-0 lead.

The Aggies punched home their only goal two seconds before halftime, when Cloey LemMon tapped home a score following an assist from Emily Mecke.

Stanford tacked on an insurance goal in the 60th minute, as Katie Mitchell followed Devon Holman's quick shot attempt for her second goal of the year and a 3-1 lead.

Ale Moss made seven saves in goal for Stanford, lowering her GAA to 1.88.
