STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford held its annual Cardinal-White scrimmage on Sunday afternoon at Maples Pavilion, with the Cardinal squad posting a 35-25 victory over the White team.
After a fast break dunk from Dwight Powell gave the White team a 2-0 lead, Stefan Nastic answered with a pair of free throws to tie the game at 2-2.
The Red team then went in front 4-2 following a bucket from Andrew Zimmermann and never trailed the rest of the way.
A three-pointer from John Gage brought the White team within 10-9 at the 4:58 mark of the first period, only to see the Red team take a 17-10 advantage into halftime.
The Red team embarked on a 10-4 scoring run, capped by a quick jumper from Robbie Lemons with 5:35 remaining to make it 27-14.
A three-pointer from Lemons with just over four minutes left gave the Red team its largest lead at 33-16.
