Stanford Drops an Overtime Thriller at Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Stanford fell in overtime, 1-0, to Oregon State on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinal dropped to 4-9-2 (1-5-1 Pac-12) and remains winless on the road. Oregon State improved to 5-8-2 (3-3-1 Pac-12) by scoring a golden goal in the 91st minute.

The two teams went scoreless for 90 minutes in a very evenly matched game. The Beavers outshot Stanford 12-10 in regulation, although the Cardinal had a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. Taylor Amman led the way with three shots on goal.

The Cardinal defense remained stingy by not allowing a goal in regulation. Jason Dodson made two saves and had a clean sheet for 90 minutes.

The Beavers scored in the 91st minute when a free kick was on goal, but the rebound came free and Josh von Allworden was there to put away the game winner. Will Seymore was credited with an assist.

The Cardinal will now have a week off before hosting San Diego State and UCLA in its final home weekend. The Aztecs come to town on Friday, November 4, at 7pm, while the Bruins will be at Cagan on Sunday, November 6, at 1pm for senior day.
