CHARLESTON, SC / TAMPA, FL-- The Stanford women won the University of South Florida Intersectional, while the coed team moved up and finished second at the College of Charleston Regatta following two days of sailing on the East Coast.
In third place following the first day of sailing in Florida, skipper Sally Mace won five-straight races en route to an A Division-best of 73 points. Overall the A Division was in the top-five in each of the final nine races. The B Division skippered by Molly McKinney finished with 131 points, tying for the second-best divisional score. Stanford with 204 combined points beat Navy by 24 points over the 16 races.
Over in Charleston, the host Cougars had the best two-day score of 67 points, as Stanford moved up from fifth place to second with 115 combined points. The B Division team of Hans Henken and Natalie Urban had just 31 points over the 10 races, winning six races and finishing outside the top-five just once.
