ANNAPOLIS, Md. / ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.-- The No. 6-ranked Stanford women moved up to fourth place at the Navy's Women's Intersectional, moving up four spots on day two, while in team racing the Cardinal finished third at St. Mary's College of Maryland
In the final four of the St. Mary's team race, Stanford went 2-1 against Boston College, Hobart and William Smith College and Georgetown to finish with an overall record of 21-9. Georgetown took the title over Boston College, winning the head-to-head 2-1.
In round one, Stanford went 12-6 against the other nine teams. In round two, Stanford went 7-2, before finishing 2-1.
Over in Annapolis in what was a very close finish, Stanford finished with 312 combined points, 15 points behind second place Rhode Island (297).
The A Division of Sally Mace and Helena Scutt finished in the the top-six in six of the final nine races for 128 points. The B Division skippered by Molly McKinney was in the top-eight in all but two races on day two to finish with 184 points. It was a tough start for the B Division, as they finished from 14th to 17th seven times over the first day of racing.
