STANFORD, Calif.- No. 11 Stanford posted a 5-2 victory over No. 7 California on Friday afternoon in Berkeley.
The Cardinal (7-0, 1-0 Pac-12) remained unbeaten on the year while the Golden Bears fell to 6-4 overall.
Friday's match did not factor into the Pac-12 standings. The Apr. 21 contest at Taube Family Tennis Stadium is the Pac-12 counting match.
Stanford swept all three doubles matches, claiming a 1-0 lead when the No. 2 duo of Stacey Tan and Ellen Tsay picked up an 8-6 win.
California evened the match at 1-1 following Anett Schutting's straight-set victory on court three.
However, Stanford responded with three consecutive wins, including the clincher from Tsay at the No. 5 spot in a 6-4, 6-4 win.
Stanford travels to No. 27 Washington on Sunday, March 4, to conclude the week.
