Final Stats

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Stanford dropped to 2-6 with a 10-4 loss at Harvard on Wednesday afternoon. The Cardinal fell behind early and struggled to score goals, including being shut out in the first half.

Harvard took a 5-0 lead to halftime after the Cardinal was unable to beat Harvard goalkeeper Kelly Weiss. Weiss made six saves in the first half as Stanford was unable to get a shot past her. Stanford actually outshot the Crimson in the first half, 7-6, but trailed big.

The Harvard run continued its scoring run into the second half, pushing the lead to 7-0. Stanford did not score until 5:02 into the second half when Hannah Farr scored an unassisted goal.

However, Harvard responded with three more goals, taking a 10-1 lead into the final minutes.

Stanford scored three late goals as it finally got the offense going in the final minutes. Emilie Boeri scored twice and assisted on an Emily Newstrom goal to continue to be Stanford's leading point scorer. Boeri now has 17 goals and 13 assists to lead the Cardinal.

Stanford will now regroup for the final game of the road trip at Albany on Friday at noon. The Cardinal will be looking for its first road win of the season in its final non-conference game.

The Cardinal will need to improve its scoring touch as it actually outshot Harvard in Wednesday's game, but just could not find the back of the net.

Following Friday's game, Stanford will return to the West for MPSF play. Stanford will travel to Fresno State and Denver, before finally returning home to face Oregon on April 13.
