STANFORD, Calif. - The 15th-ranked Stanford softball team finished off the sweep of No. 25 Oregon State, Sunday, with an 8-0 five inning victory at Smith Family Stadium. The Cardinal now stands at 32-12 overall and 6-9 in the Pac-12, while the Beavers drop to 27-14 overall and 4-7 in the conference.

Junior pitcher Teagan Gerhart earned her third straight win and her second consecutive shutout. She is now 27-7 overall and has six shutouts this season. Oregon's State's Tina Andreana took the loss, dropping to 5-9.

Stanford jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning. The Cardinal loaded the bases with no outs as rookies Hanna Winter and Leah White hit back-to-back infield singles and senior Ashley Hansen was hit by a pitch. Winter scored the first run of the game as junior Jenna Rich drew a walk. Senior Maya Burns then hit a single through the left side to score White. After freshman Cassandra Roulund singled to centerfield to score Hansen, Oregon State head coach Kirk Walker replaced Andreana with Aryn Feikert.

The Cardinal continued to roll after the pitching change as first baseman Jenna Becerra hit a grand slam over the left field fence. It was her fifth homer of the season and the second grand slam in as many days for the senior.

Stanford tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth as Rich hit a double to deep centerfield, scoring White from first.

Stanford hits the road next week, playing a midweek game at San Jose State on Tuesday, Apr. 17. The Cardinal will then head to Tempe, Ariz., for a three-game series at third-ranked Arizona State, Apr. 20-22.
