Women Move Up to Finish Second in Final Tuneup Prior to PCCSCs

NEW LONDON, Conn.-- The Stanford women moved up one spot to finish in  second at the Emily Wick Trophy in its final tuneup prior to the women's conference championships next weekend.

Paced by an A Division-leading 93 points,  Sally Mace and Helena Scutt helped the Cardinal to 207 points, two points ahead of third place and No. 4-ranked Boston College (209 points).

After trailing by four points after day one, Mace and Scutt finished in the top-seven in six of Sunday nine races. Overall, the Cardinal were in the top half of the 17 teams in 13 of 17 races.

No. 10-ranked Boston College won the event with 190 points.

The B Division squad skippered by Molly McKinney finished with 114 points, finishing fourth or better in four of the seven Sunday races.

The women, ranked No. 8 nationally, have won the last seven Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference titles. This year's regatta is in Hawaii starting on Saturday.
