Rain Shortens First Day Of Pac-12 Championships

OJAI, Calif.- Four Stanford players won their opening-round match on Thursday afternoon at the Pac-12 Championships.

Only the first round of singles matches was played Thursday, as rain postponed round of 16 competition to Friday.

Mallory Burdette, Stacey Tan and Ellen Tsay each won in straight sets, while Nicole Gibbs outlasted UCLA's McCall Jones 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 in her opener.

Singles and doubles play continues Friday.
