Diekroeger Earns Academic All-District Honors, Wallace Award Watch List

STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford infielder Kenny Diekroeger was named to the 50-man Brooks Wallace Award watch list on Thursday, given to the nation's top collegiate shortstop. He was also was named academic All-District following a 3.59 cumulative GPA management, science and engineering.

He was one of seven Pac-12 shortstops named to the Brooks Wallace Award. Diekroeger was one of five Pac-12 players on the Academic All-District team, which now makes them eligible for Academic All-America consideration. This is the second year Diekroeger has been named to the academic all-district team.

The former first team All-Pac-10 selection, carries a .318 career average over 151 games. He is batting .300 this year with 30 runs and 23 RBIs. He leads the club with 13 doubles.

The Cardinal (28-11), ranked as high as No. 7 nationally are flying to Oregon State for a three-game series with the Beavers starting on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
