Cassandra Roulund Named Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

May 7, 2012

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford freshman outfielder Cassandra Roulund has been named the Stanford/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Cardinal offensively to a sweep of No. 14 Washington, its second Pac-12 series win of the year.

Roulund hit .600 (6-for-10), including two doubles and a home run. She scored six runs, tallied eight RBI and posted a 1.100 slugging percentage. In Friday's 4-0 win over the Huskies, Roulund was 2-for-3 with one run scored and an RBI. She also recorded her first career stolen base. She was 3-for-3 in Tuesday's win over Santa Clara, driving in a season-high five runs.

Roulund was named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the week earlier Monday afternoon. Teammate Teagan Gerhart earned the Pitcher of the Week honors as Stanford swept the weekly awards.

It is the first Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor for Roulund and the second softball winner this season as senior Jenna Becerra took home the award on Apr. 16.

Also Nominated: Kevin Cardey (men's track and field) and Madeline Treasure (women's track and field).
