STANFORD, Calif. - For the fourth straight season, Stanford women's water polo landed 10 of its number to the MPSF All-Academic List, the conference announced Wednesday.
In total, the Cardinal had three seniors, four juniors and three sophomores honored. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must possess a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average, be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at her respective institution and competed in at least 50 percent of her team's games in 2012.
Seniors Monica Coughlan (3.86 cumulative GPA), Alyssa Lo (3.46) and Pallavi Menon (3.38) were all selected to the MPSF's list for the third straight year.
Juniors Kate Baldoni (3.24), Jillian Garton (3.31), Victoria Kennedy (3.27) and Alexis Lee (3.21) were all named to the list for the second straight season.
Making their first appearances on the MPSF All-Academic List were sophomores Kaley Dodson (3.19), Kaitlyn Lo (3.52) and Kelsey Suggs (3.04).
In addition to its dominance in the classroom, Stanford women's water polo captured its second straight NCAA title, and third overall, in 2012. The Cardinal (26-2) defeated USC 6-4 in the national championship game in San Diego on May 13.
