Box Score

STANFORD, Calif.- Five players scored at least one goal, leading an offensive onslaught as No. 14 Stanford easily put away Pacific 5-1 on Friday afternoon at the Varsity Turf.

The Cardinal (10-6, 4-0 NorPac) owned a commanding 32-5 shot edge, repeatedly creating scoring chances against the Tigers (5-11, 1-4 NorPac), which have now dropped 13 straight games in the series dating back to 2006.

Included in the mix of goal scorers for Stanford: Becky Dru, who notched the 50th goal of her impressive All-American career.

Leading 2-1 at halftime, Stanford rattled off three more scores in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Stanford attempted 16 shots in each period while holding an 11-1 advantage in penalty corners.

Maddie Secco's fifth goal of the year opened the scoring in the 10th minute, tipping a loose ball into the cage following the first of two assists from Shannon Herold.

In the 14th minute, Melissa Maultsby brought Pacific back to even at 1-1 when she curled past a defender after receiving a pass from Emily Tregoning.

Less than four minutes later, Alex McCawley put Stanford back in front 2-1 when she scored unassisted on an even flashier play, spinning a defender around and blistering a shot into the corner of the goal.

Dru increased the Cardinal's lead to 3-1 at the 47:28 mark, converting on a textbook penalty corner with assists from Elise Ogle and Herold. It was the 50th career goal for Dru, who quickly responded after misfiring on a penalty stroke near the end of the first half.

Emily Henriksson tacked on a goal in the 59th minute, poking a ball past Pacific keeper Ashlee Schlesier thanks to an assist from Kelsey Harbin.

Katie Mitchell's unassisted score in the 64th minute concluded the scoring for Stanford, which has outscored Pacific 9-2 over two games this year.

Dru led all players with seven shots while Burke and McCawley chipped in with five apiece.

Stanford is back in action tomorrow at 6 p.m., traveling to UC Davis.
