Stanford Drops First Match to Harvard in Howe Cup

Feb. 15, 2013

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The seventh-ranked Stanford women’s squash team dropped its opening-round match Friday at the Howe Cup against No. 2 Harvard, 9-0.

Harvard proved a formidable foe, losing just three games to the Cardinal in the nine matches. Serena Fagan and Ariel Posner claimed a game each for Stanford.

The loss sets up a second-round match Saturday against No. 6 Cornell. The two teams squared off earlier this season with the Big Red edging Stanford, 5-4.

Saturday’s match will take place at 1 p.m. (PT) and live results can be found at collegesquashassociation.com.
