Feb. 28, 2013

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Making his Pac-12 Conference Men's Diving Championships debut, Kristian Ipsen won the 1-meter title Thursday evening at the King County Aquatic Center.

Ipsen, who did not compete in the 2012 edition of the league meet, posted 442.15 points to outlast Arizona State's Harrison Jones (437.35) for his first conference title.

The 2012 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year was joined in the top five by third-place Connor Kuremsky (357.45) and fourth-place Taylor Sishc (356.25).

Noah Garcia (289.40) was 13th overall.

"This is a great result for the meet, and while Kristian was great, Connor, Taylor and Noah really stepped up," Stanford head diving coach Rick Schavone said.

The 3-meter portion of the competition will begin Friday at 1 p.m. (PT), with the finals taking place at 7 p.m. Live results will be available at GoStanford.com.
