STANFORD, Calif.- Fresh off a 15-day layoff, No. 47 Stanford defeated Nevada 5-2 on Monday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Stanford (6-5, 0-0 Pac-12), which extended its season-high winning streak to three matches, opened a stretch that will feature four matches to be played over a six-day stretch.
Nevada (8-5, 0-0 Mountain West) had won five of its last six contests entering Monday's match.
For the first time this year, Stanford bounced back to win the match despite losing the doubles point. The Wolf Pack collected victories at the top two spots of the lineup.
Straight-set victories from Trey Strobel and Maciek Romanowicz put Stanford in front 3-2, before Nolan Paige finished off Victor Ouvrard 7-5, 7-6 (5) at the No. 1 spot.
Robert Stineman's 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4) win on court three closed out the match.
Stanford returns to action on Wednesday, March 27, hosting Saint Mary's at 12 p.m.
